CNA or Special Needs Caregiver
Caregiving position for 24 year old special needs girl.
Strength, Endurance, Fitness, Positive Attitude, Observation skills required, must be able to pick up 85lbs and be communicative.
Typical Day:
Assist w dressing, bathing, feeding and mobility, tube feeding, teeth brush, toilet or pullup change. Constant dialog about what comes next so she can help choose or help hold her weight. Non-verbal but can blink for yes/agreement.
Daytime consists of yoga with the assistance of props, stretching, walk with full assist, sit/stands, coffee shops, strolling around Whole Foods, shopping, listening to music, swimming at the Rec Center, visiting trails/dog parks, or just having a book read to her. Patience and Kindness are key.
Younger and strong is necessary, lots of time on the floor stretching and helping her with yoga poses. Also included: lifting of her chair and helping her stand and transfer. Strong back is required. Our daughter is 85 lbs and the chair is 38lbs, you must be able to handle both safely.
Reliability is a must as she needs continuous care to succeed in life. Your help allows parents to go to work and have some personal time. We would like this to continue in the fall, this is not just a summer position, possibly different days but still 20-25 hours per week.
$22-24 and hour plus weekly gas stipend for driving her around.
20-25 hrs per week, to be determined. Probably 2 to 3 days per week.
