Need a companion and interesting conversationalist for my 96 y.o. father. He is cognitively intact, a retired attorney and jet pilot.
Has multiple physical disabilities, uses an electric wheelchair, has very limited use of his hands, moderately hard of hearing. He is independent in all ADLs but needs set-up assistance. So, minimal physical caregiving but needs attention and assistance to lift or move anything, get a glass of water, move a plate to the table, etc. Likes to attend concerts, dinners with friends, poker night with the guys. From time to time, you will need to drive him and assist with manual wheelchair and/or walker.
Need coverage for several evenings a week, roughly 6pm-10:30pm, but variable. Some Sunday mornings, 9:00-1:00. Possibly other times as mutually agreed. Offering $20/hour, paid weekly.
You must be able to speak unaccented English in a clear loud voice, non-smoker, clean driving record, lift 25-30lbs. Knowledge of household level technology a plus (cable TV, VOIP, cell phone, etc). You must be willing to be vaccinated against Covid-19 and know basic first aid. CPR not required.
