Make, Bake and Destroy is hiring full-time, contract General Camp Instructors and Club Instructors for our onsite summer camps at Holy Family Catholic School for Summer 2024. As a General Camp Instructor, you will be responsible for inspiring children (Kindergarten – 5th Grade) to engage in hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Art and Math) activities. The ideal candidates are passionate about STEAM, have experience teaching/ working with elementary-aged children, and have the proper classroom management skills to make camp-learning fun and exciting. Camp instructor applicants will complete a general application and submit a resume with references to be considered for an in-person interview. We will determine which type of camp is the best fit with your background and availability. Camp Instructors can work 1-7 weeks at camp. Camp runs from June 3 - July 19.
Primary Responsibilities: Provide developmentally appropriate instruction in STEAM camp curriculum. Serve as a role model for campers in appropriate behavior, language, attitudes, and activities. Assist with pre/post camp duties. Teach general STEAM topics or specialized themed clubs.
Job Requirements: High School Diploma required, Bachelor’s degree (can be in progress- College Students welcome to apply) preferred, teaching experience in elementary STEAM subject areas, and experience teaching/working in camps preferred, but related experience may be substituted. First Aid & CPR certifications a plus.
Compensation: Weekly flat rate, contract compensation of $750, based on a 41.5/hour week. Pay will be prorated for missed hours/days.
Typical Camp Schedule: Pre-Camp Coverage 7:45 AM – 4:15 PM or Post-Camp Coverage 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM. All Camp Staff will arrive at 7:45am on Mondays and all Camp Staff will stay until 5:30pm on Fridays to assist with opening and closing camp each week.
