The Program Leader leads new product development projects. These projects include platform upgrade projects, and quality improvement projects. Accountable for meeting Project commitments (product improvements, cost reductions, incremental margins and volumes, production schedules, and project budgets). Essential Job Responsibilities:

Project Planning: Develop the project charter and Define project schedule, resources, capital and other investments, and margin/share benefits.

Conduct business case analysis and construct PAR for management approvals.

Lead cross-functional project Core Team to execute development projects and deliver PAR promises.

Project Core Team represents global functional disciplines such as Marketing, Design, Test, Procurement, Manufacturing, Aftermarket Service, and Finance. The Core Team members are responsible for executing tasks and producing deliverables as outlined in the Project Plan and directed by the Project Manager

Project execution involves definition of requirements, concept evaluations and documentation, product design, virtual build/validation, prototype builds/validation, pilot and first production, market launch activities, product cost and project financials tracking, and periodic status updates.

Review Gate process utilized for managing and tracking program schedules and PAR promises, and management signoffs.

Identify, monitor, and mitigate project risks (technical, commercial, supplier) to ensure PAR promises are delivered successfully.

Required Job Qualifications (unless otherwise noted):Educational Background

BS in Engineering or equivalent

Previous Work Experience

5+ years of work experience in leading technical teams

5+ years of project management experience in the industry involving new product development

Experience with new product development principles

Experience with supporting the supply chain and manufacturing teams to introduce new product

Familiarity with PM principles, DFMA and Design for cost

Experience planning and managing multiple parallel development projects involving diverse participants in a multi-disciplined matrix team environment

Experience planning and managing operational programs including departmental staffing, budgeting, capital planning, and reporting

Skills and Abilities

Strong project management skills and experience. Extensive problem solving and team facilitation skills (TQM Training or equivalent)

Business operations management.

Communication and presentation skills, leadership ability in a matrix organization

Travel Required

Up to 10%
