Ameritas Life Insurance Corp., in Lincoln, Nebraska seeks multiple Lead Architects.
Responsibilities: The Lead Architect is responsible for providing leadership in defining and creating systems and applications architecture for the organization. Duties include: collaborating with the architectural team and other business areas to understand the vision and strategies and create application systems and architectures to support those strategies; recommending ways to improve efficiency and accomplish operational objectives; providing input to planning and budgeting with regard to architectural design and strategy; performing research and development activities to evaluate emerging internet, warehouse, and service-oriented architecture technologies and how those technologies can assist in supporting the business vision and strategies; creating a prototype and experiments with technologies; preparing technical architecture documents and presentations that clearly describe the architecture including rationale for decisions and implications of those decisions; participating in architecture planning, review, setting technical priorities, signing off technical design, and the creation of standards in reconciling architecture issues and opportunities; applying expert knowledge of best practices, standards, established processes, procedures, business area expectations, and procedures to assignments; recognizing when change is needed and takes the lead in implementing changes in best practices, company tools, and policies; and other duties as assigned. Employee may be stationed anywhere in the continental U.S., but will report to headquarters in Lincoln, NE.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related field (or foreign equivalent).
Requirements: Two (2) years of experience in the job offered or related. Other special requirements include: two (2) years of experience working with enterprise architecture frameworks and designing and implementing complex software solutions; two (2) years of experience translating business requirements into technical specifications and providing innovative solutions that drive operational efficiency; two (2) years of experience reviewing architecture of new applications for security gaps and advising on how to secure applications and database server and network infrastructure; and two (2) years of experience managing projects involving integrated point solutions such as Identity & Access Management and Security Incident Event Management.
