Job Purpose: set-up and run punch press, brake press, and other machines.
Duties include: Pulling metal with forklift and placing it near machines for production or fabrication. Load material table with metal for entry into punch press or brake press. Change die set or brake press blades for different punching and bending jobs. Maintain and fill oil and lubrication points on machines. Layout and plan step by step bending procedures for a variety of brake press shapes. Shear metal sheets to correct dimension on industrial shear. Shrink wrap and stack bundles of metal produced or fabricated. Clear floor around machinery of any debris, including paper, wood and/ or metal shavings.
Qualifications required: Motivated worker with a desire to be a part of a team and willing to communicate with fellow staff. Must have traits and skills pertaining to organization, time management and dependability. Minimum 3 years of experience with punch press or brake press operations. Have experience driving and handling a sit-down forklift.
Physical and Safety Requirements:
- Can lift and carry up to 100lbs max.
- Can do 200lb push/pull
-Ability to climb a ladder.
- Able to swing 8lb sledgehammer.
-Walking, standing and bending for 8 hrs. per day.
-Must be able to wear safety equipment including gloves, ear, and eye protection.
