Free room and board in exchange for part time caregiving .
I’m looking for a female caregiver to help me take care of my 87 year old mother who has some dementia , at her house in Arcata . She lives across the street from Mad River Hospital and 1 mile from Cal poly Humboldt .
I’m looking for a female caregiver only , no pets, no kids. I apologize in advance due to my mom’s dementia for these restrictions .

She has a 3 bedroom , 2 bath house.
You would have 2 rooms in the house .
1 bedroom and 1 room as a sitting room /tv / office / meditation room .
We have a backyard if you would like to garden. Full access to kitchen and laundry room.
Room and board , food and utilities and internet included. All free!
In exchange for part time help with my mom Monday thru Thursday .
You will have Off days-Friday thru Sunday and Holidays off .
My mom sleeps a lot . Does not cook. Does not drive .Goes for a walk twice a day . Goes to church on Sundays and any other church events on the weekend .
My mom is a sweet person not angry.
She eats 2 times a day . Takes medicine morning and night.
During the day and night you would be free to do anything .
She does not need to be watched all the time .
Caregiver needs to get her up in the mornings , cleaned up , dressed for the day , breakfast and medicine and taken on a walk -takes 1 hr of time.
Evenings the caregiver needs to get my mom up and give her dinner and medicine and another walk- 1 hr of time
Caregiver will need to firm/stern with my mother because she mostly never wants to do anything . Example : “it’s time to get up, “ rather than “do you want to get up”
Another example - “it’s time to eat “, rather than -do you want to eat .
My mother must have 2 meals a day .
Once my mother is up and going she does fine the rest of the day . Just the mornings are challenging .
Bathing every 2 days .
During the 4 day work block caregiver must clean up after themselves and keep house tidy , vacuum and mop the house once a week
Our routine we have in place for my mothers is really important to the family . Caregiver must follow our routine .The routine is printed and posted in every room to help care for my mother.
I go grocery shopping, and take her to doctor’s appt, and clean her house and refill her medicine box. During my 3 day work block , I keep will the house tidy and will also vacuum and mop the house .
I have 2 visable cameras in the house , 1 in the living room and 1 camera in my mother’s bedroom.
I find it best that a caregiver have a job or go to school , or a hobby because it will get boring at my mom’s house.
What’s most important to my family is that my mother is safe and taken care of in her home .
