We are an innovative organization that develops custom treehouse and products for the growing outdoor hospitality market. We are looking for a Design Manager who is interested in getting in on the ground floor of a growing company that has clients across the United States. The Design Manager will work closely with senior designers to generate concepts and fabrication documents to be used by our Sales and Marketing group for client presentations, in-house fabrication group and installation teams.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Coordinate team of designers to ensure they are able to meet project timelines for delivering concept designs to clients and completed fabrication drawings to the Operation group and vendors.
- Review and assist in completing bids to ensure projects will attain reasonable profitability.
- Assist designers in researching materials and resolving design related issues.
- Work with Engineering consultants to prioritize their work and deliver results in a timely fashion.
- Coordinate design assets to complete design material requests from the Sales and Marketing groups
- Meet with designers individually to assist in resolving design issues as well as issues with project deliverables
- Work closely with internal departments to coordinate company wide efforts.
Minimal Requirements:
- Bachelor’s in Architecture, Construction Technology or equivalent
- Experience leading a team of Designers & the ability to develop and grow a junior staff
- Knowledge of design software, including Rhino, Sketchup and Fusion.
- 10 years experience in Construction
- A deep understanding of construction materials and building practices
- Knowledge of building codes and the ability to implement them into construction drawings
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects
- Strong leadership, entrepreneurial drive, and collaboration skills
- The ability to assist with design work as needed.
- Ability to travel on an as needed basis
- Fluent using Google Apps and Slack
- Open to experiencing the highs and lows of a small but quickly growing organization.
