Vita Kitchen is a woman owned meal delivery/catering company located in downtown Oakland. We are looking for a part-time prep/dish position for Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays starting at the beginning of January 2026. Tuesday & Wednesday are 9am-5:30pm. The Thursday shift is 8am-4:30pm.
Expectations:
-Comes to shift prepared, on time, and in appropriate work attire (no slip shoes, hair covering)
-Assists our lead dishwasher with washing and putting away cooking equipment and food containers.
-Assists our lead dishwasher with sanitizing and organizing packaging containers, and inventory of containers.
-Helps to package our prepared meals, following food container guidelines and procedures.
-Ensures that the food prep area and kitchen are cleaned and sanitized at the end of our shifts.
-Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Skills and Qualifications:
-Previous experience as a dishwasher or prep cook in a commercial kitchen, meal prep service, or catering environment required.
-Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices (ServSafe certification required).
-Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
-Strong organizational and time-management skills.
-Interest in healthy eating, farm to table sourcing and nutrition is preferred.
REQUIREMENTS:
-Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.
-Use their hands to grasp, handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Repeat the same movements over the course of their shift.
