I am a U.S. Coast Guard veteran with several years of federal security and law enforcement experience, currently building a security company in San Luis Obispo County. I’m looking for a BSIS Qualified Manager (QM), or someone who meets the hours required to apply, to help launch this company.

What I’m looking for:
A BSIS Qualified Manager (active PPO license holder or eligible by experience)
Updated BSIS Qualified Manager Requirements (Effective January 1, 2025)
To qualify as a QM under the California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS):
Be at least 18 years old and possess a valid Social Security number or ITIN.
Complete a DOJ and FBI background check (Live Scan).
Have at least 6,000 hours of verifiable experience within the last five years, including:
4,000 hours as a patrolperson, guard, or watchman (or equivalent), and
2,000 hours in a managerial or administrative role with a licensed PPO.
Pass the BSIS Qualified Manager Examination, covering business law, liability, and security operations.
Submit the required application, supporting documentation, and fees.
Renew the QM Certificate every two years (effective 2025).
Professional, dependable, and aligned with operating by the book
Flexible arrangement: I will be handling all operations, administration, and client development, but open to discussing a larger role if you want to grow with the business
