This role will be based from our Oxnard office and the applicant must be able to commute on a daily basis.
The purpose of the Sander/Buffer is to achieve the final finish on the ideal guitar. This job includes having to grind, lap, polish and operate buffing machine tool setters. This position requires a high attention to detail and a steady hand.
Essential Functions:
Grind, lap, sand, clean, or polish guitars to correct defects or to prepare surfaces for further finishing, using hand tools and power tools
Hold guitar against rotating buffing wheel to polish to our quality standards
Remove defects such as orange peel and other finishing imperfections
Move controls to adjust, start or stop equipment during grinding and polishing processes
Load and adjust work pieces onto equipment or worktables, using hand tools
Work with the paint department on repairs, touch ups and fallout. Often repairing as needed and on the spot
Required Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of finishing processes in a manufacturing or shop environment
Must have a steady hand with the ability to correctly work with wood surfaces
Strong communication skills with the ability to provide feedback to fellow workers
Strong attention to detail
Education and Experience:
Results oriented and driven, with a track record for delivering to plan
Must be 18 years of age or older
Prior woodworking experience is preferred
What you Bring to the table
Woodworking experience is a plus
Ability to work non-standard hours as required
Understanding of guitar construction, manufacturing processes and machinery in a woodworking environment
Must be able to stand and walk between departments for most of the day
Repetitive motions, such as operating machinery, using hand tools, or sanding surface
Must be able to lift 10-40 pounds
Comfortable using PPE such as safety glasses, earplugs, and respirators
Ability to multi-task, prioritize next steps in process, and pivot as needed
Possess strong verbal and written communication skills

Salary Range is DOE $17/hr - $19/hr
The posted pay range values provide the candidate with guidance on base compensation for the position, exclusive of overtime, and benefits-related compensation, over a range of qualifications that may fit hiring objectives.
