Solution Architect

  Role Overviewseeking a Senior Solutions Architect / Enterprise Architect to provide strategic technical leadership across enterprise technology initiatives. The architect will guide solution design, modernization, integrations, security, governance, and vendor strategy while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. This role partners closely with executive leadership, business stakeholders, IT teams, and vendors.Key ResponsibilitiesArchitecture & Solution StrategyTranslate business objectives into future-state enterprise architecturesReduce technical debt while promoting innovation and sustainabilityDesign scalable, secure, and cloud-native solutions aligned to CDLE goalsDevelop high-level solution architectures, system components, interfaces, and data flowsEvaluate emerging technologies (AI/ML, cloud services) and recommend vendorsSupport RFPs and SOWs with technical evaluation criteria and proposal reviewsSystem Integration & Data StrategyDefine enterprise integration strategies and interoperability standardsGuide modernization of legacy systems and interfacesEnsure data consistency, quality, and real-time data exchangeCoordinate integrations with vendors and partner agenciesSecurity, Risk & ComplianceEnsure compliance with state and federal regulations (IRS, SSA, CJI, Federal Data)Define security strategies covering IAM, encryption, logging, monitoring, and threat detectionCollaborate with legal and policy teams on regulatory compliance and auditsAlign solutions with Colorado OIT security standardsTechnology Governance & RoadmapsEstablish and enforce architecture governance, standards, and best practicesProvide oversight on technology investments and project prioritizationParticipate in governance boards and steering committeesDevelop and maintain enterprise technology roadmapsProject & Stakeholder LeadershipProvide architectural guidance on project planning and executionMonitor risks, timelines, and delivery qualityAct as liaison between business teams, IT, and vendorsCommunicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholdersDeliverablesEnterprise Architecture Strategy documentationSolution Architecture & Technical Design Documents (TDDs)Integration & API specificationsSecurity, access control, and compliance documentationTechnical roadmaps and architectural review reportsProof-of-Concepts (POCs) as requiredKnowledge transfer materials and weekly status reports
