Database Engineer- Sr. Consultant level- NoSQL (Mongo DB, Cassandra) and DB2

Join our dynamic Database Engineering team, a crucial part of the Platform as a Service (PaaS) division under the Operations & Infrastructure organization. We are responsible for architecting, designing, and building highly available, reliable, secure, and cost-effective database solutions. Our team delivers multiple database technologies (both RDBMS and NoSQL) and automated services (using Ansible, Terraform, Python) to provision and manage databases on-premises and in public clouds.As a Database Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our database infrastructure. You will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies, solve complex problems, and contribute to the success of our global payment network. Your expertise in NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra) and DB2 technologies will be instrumental in driving innovation and ensuring the reliability and performance of our database systems.Key Responsibilities:Architect, design, and build deployment standards for MongoDB, Cassandra, and DB2 technologies.Develop and maintain scripts for database automation tasks using Python, Ansible, or similar languages.Implement Infrastructure as Code practices using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.Develop and implement robust backup and recovery strategies to protect against data loss and ensure quick recovery in case of failure.Maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, procedures, and policies.Set up and maintain database monitoring tools to ensure database health and performance.Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues as part of Level 3 support.Provide technical influence and subject matter expertise for database technologies, tackling complex problems and identifying innovative solutions.Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure database designs align with application requirements, leading to more efficient and effective application development.This is a hybrid position.
