Van Atta in Telluride seeks Qualified Sous Chef
Full-time or Part-time (full-time preferred, 5 days per week)
$60,000-$70,000 per year (or hourly equivalent), commensurate with experience
In the heart of downtown Telluride, Van Atta is a small upscale cocktail bar and restaurant serving brunch and dinner daily, year round.
Under the creative leadership of Executive Chef Jen Williams, we take great pride in our unique and sophisticated small bites menu.
Job Description:
- Work side by side with our Executive Chef 3 days per week and run the kitchen on her 2 days off
- Collaborate with Executive Chef to create, refine, and source seasonal menus
- Oversee food preparation and production to ensurer recipe consistency
- Train and supervise kitchen staff
- Maintain kitchen organization and sanitation
- Handle ordering 2 days per week
Qualifications:
- Culinary certificate or degree preferred
- Minimum two years experience in upscale restaurant
- Ability to be self motivated and a professional leader
