This role combines expertise in database technologies, programming, and automation to enhance the efficiency, reliability, and scalability of database systems. Key Responsibilities:
Designing, developing and maintain automated solutions for Database software upgrades, patches, and associated tools.
Designing, developing and maintain automated solutions for database deployments, configuration, backup, and recovery, monitoring and performance tuning.
Collaborating with software development teams to integrate database automation process into the software development cycle
Implementing and maintain database automation frameworks, tools, and scrips to streamline database operations and enhance efficiency
Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation within the database environment and proposing innovative solutions
Troubleshooting and resolving database-related issues in collaboration with cross-functional teams, including system administrators, developers, and network engineers
Ensuring high availability and performance of production databases through effective automation strategies and monitoring techniques
Conducting regular performance analysis and capacity planning to optimize database resources
Documenting database automation process, procedures and configuration to ensure knowledge sharing and compliance with organization standards
Keeping up to date with the latest industry trends and advancement in database automation technologies
Required Qualifications
3 to 5 years in proven experience as a Database Engineer or similar role, with a focus on automation
Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Bash for automation tasks
Experience with database automation frameworks and tools like Ansible, Puppet, Chef or Terraform
Experience with source code management tools like GitHub, GitLab
Experience with CI/CD orchestration tool like Jenkins, GitHub Action
Understanding of database architecture, replication and high availability concepts
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency in SQL and experience with database management systems such as DB2 on Mainframe
Familiarity with Mainframe source code management like Endevor/ Change Man
Knowledge of database concepts, principles, and technologies of Mainframe Db2
DevOps for Mainframe
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality database automation solutions
EducationBachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field Pay RangeThe typical pay range for this role is:$40.11 - $97.05This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
