Pay Structure
It’s daily pay, cash paid out at the end of your shift. This is how the pay structure works: it’s a sliding scale of $20–$30 an hour. Every day you walk home with money in your pocket. Every route you’re picking up cash, but you bring all the money back and we calculate your delivery fees. We keep track throughout the day and we pay you out at the end of your shift — cash — no taxes taken out.
It’s $20–$30 depending on how busy it is for the day. The more orders you take, the more money you make. You’re there for a certain amount of time 8 to 10 hours and you make at least $20 an hour — that’s your bare minimum.
Example:
If I’m here for eight hours, there’s a minimum I’m supposed to take home: $160. If I take 10 orders and my delivery fees only came up to $120, the company owes me $40 more so that I can make my minimum. If it was busy and I took 15 orders and I made $190, the company doesn’t owe me anything because I made all my money from customers because I took 15 orders — I made my minimum plus more — so the company doesn’t pay out anything. That’s how it works. Very simple.
You can make tips, but you must be professional. You must be on point. You must be prompt. You must be everything right. This is a high-end industry—people love to spend—and we are trying to turn it into a restaurant, a high-end restaurant type of approach for cannabis.
