Work ScheduleOtherEnvironmental ConditionsOfficeJob DescriptionThe Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring full compliance with US and international regulations by supporting the LSG Thermofisher trade compliance group in the daily management, of global free trade agreements and their impact on the overall business of the division. The specialist role is responsible for the review, determination and maintenance of free trade agreement qualification for LSLPG. Key responsibilities consist of maintenance of day to day free trade operations, processing requests from our customers and the business, gathering of needed data to resolve product qualification, compliantly maintaining all vital documents for free trade agreement determination.The Compliance Specialist is expected to supply to the continuous improvement of trade compliance processes. They should seek opportunities for efficiency, effectiveness and expansion of shared service activities across the group.Job Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business or related field from an accredited four-year college/university, or equivalent experience

1-2 years of experience in a customs or trade compliance role with emphasis on import related responsibilities (certain exceptions allowed)

In-depth knowledge and experience in the subject areas noted throughout this job description is required

Strong hands-on operational compliance knowledge

Strong analytical skills

Experienced in free trade agreements USMCA, SGFTA, KRFTA, ILFTA, AUFTA preferred

Strong ability to communicate efficiently with company management of all interpersonal levels, functional counterparts, US Government officials, and service providers

Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferences:

In-depth knowledge of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule, General Rules of Interpretation, Explanatory Notes, CROSS, audit principles, ADD/CVD and all PGAs.

Knowledge of Microsoft suite of programs including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Power BI

Direct knowledge of biotechnology, chemical and/or pharmaceutical industry and compliance requirements

Graduate degree a plus

Prior experience working with SAP-GTS and Agile/JD Edwards/TRAX strongly preferred

Customhouse broker license strongly preferred

Multinational experience preferred
