We are a small custom plantation shutter company in Sarasota looking for a reliable subcontractor (1099) worker to assist with workshop and field work.
Hours: 20–40 hours per week (schedule may vary depending on workload)
Responsibilities include:
Sanding and prepping wood components
Moving and organizing materials
Assisting with painting, priming, and finishing
Helping with shutter installations (measuring, lifting, holding panels in place)
Using basic hand and power tools safely
Maintaining a clean and organized workshop, and presentable appearance at job sites
Loading/unloading materials at job sites
Following directions and working efficiently with the lead installer
Requirements:
Must be able to lift 40+ lbs safely
Basic knowledge of hand/power tools preferred
Reliable transportation to workshop in North Sarasota
Punctual and dependable
Must be legally able to work in the U.S.
Able to work as an independent subcontractor (1099) with your own general liability and workers comp exemption
Pay:
Hourly rate: $15 – $25/hour starting pay, depending on experience and reliability
Paid weekly
