Experienced Mechanical Sheet Metal Estimator. Must have experience in new and remodel. Must have dependable transportation. See job duties below.
Project Analysis and Take-offs: Reviewing blueprints, specifications, and related documents to identify project requirements and performing detailed quantity take-offs.
Cost Calculation: Identifying and computing costs for materials, labor, specialized equipment, fabrication processes, and permits.
Bid Preparation and Submission: Developing and submitting detailed, competitive bid proposals in a timely manner.
Vendor and Client Coordination: Soliciting quotes from vendors for raw materials and coordinating with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to resolve issues.
Software Utilization: Using specialized estimating software to model and calculate project costs.
Post-Bid Analysis: Tracking actual costs against original estimates to improve accuracy and reviewing win/loss ratios.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Proficiency in reading technical drawings and understanding blueprints.
Strong analytical, mathematical, and communication skills.
Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes, materials, and HVAC systems.
