About the Role
We’re a boutique hotel looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Accountant with a strong accounting background and advanced QuickBooks Online (QBO) skills. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in both structured accounting work and problem-solving, with the flexibility to work onsite in Miami Beach and remotely as needed.

Key Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable & Payable
o Process customer invoices accurately and on time
o Manage vendor bills, approvals, and ensure timely payments
o Adjusting invoices incorrectly paid to an inter-related company
Bank Feeds & Automation
o Set up and maintain bank feeds
o Import transactions and create bank rules for automation
o Review coding for accuracy and exceptions
o Reconcile bank, credit card, and clearing accounts monthly
Accounting & Reporting
o Reconcile accounts to keep books current and accurate
o Ensure transactions are correctly reflected in both the P&L and Balance Sheet
o Maintain and update Products & Service Codes in QBO for accurate reporting
o Support month-end close and reporting tasks
o Prepare reconciliations for AR/AP, payroll liabilities, intercompany balances, and other balance sheet accounts
o Analyze F&B performance
o Calculate ADR/RevPAR, other KPIs
Intercompany Transactions
o Record intercompany charges, reimbursements, and transfers
o Reconcile due-to/due-from accounts monthly across entities
o Investigate and resolve variances promptly
Systems & Process Development
o Implement best practices for QBO setup and automation
o Create and maintain SOPs (standard operating procedures)
o Provide management with checklists and reporting tools for financial clarity
Interface with Investors and Senior Management
Requirements
Strong accounting background with understanding of AR, AP, Balance Sheet, and P&L
Advanced QuickBooks Online experience (must be proficient with complex transactions)
Experience handling partial payments, security deposits, job costing, and billable expenses
Ability to work independently, problem-solve, and maintain attention to detail
Excellent communication skills to work with both internal teams and clients
Preferred
Accounting degree or equivalent experience
Prior experience as a bookkeeper or accountant
Knowledge of intercompany accounting and reconciliations
Familiarity with automation tools (bank rules, recurring templates, imports).
