A local geotechnical engineering consulting firm is looking for an entry-level candidate as a full-time field technician/entry level engineer on Kauai Island. Duties include observing site grading, excavation, soil filling and backfilling, and compaction, performing field compaction (moisture content and density) tests. No experience is required, will train!
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- Knowing how to read construction plans or strong desire to learn
- Excellent math and Microsoft Outlook/Word/Excel skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of OSHA requirements and other applicable laws and regulations
- Possessing a valid Hawaii Driver's License with clean abstract
- Good attitude and able to work as part of a team and/or independently
- Respectful, positive attitude. Trustworthy and dependable
- Lift and carry 50+ lbs
- Able to travel to neighbor islands
- Must be able to pass drug screening and background screening to obtain government security clearance (military bases)
