PPersonal Care Assistant (PCA)
Start Date: Monday, January 5, 2026
The apartment complex is a non-smoking facility
Job Location: West Champaign, near the intersection of Windsor and Mattis
We are men in our 30s with physical disabilities who need assistance with activities of daily living, including getting out of bed, showering, dressing in daytime clothes, bathroom assistance, and routine cleaning/laundry.
I am seeking a personal care assistant (PCA) to help the three of us. The PCA shift will cover the morning shift on Mondays from 7 am until 11 am. We also wanted to know if the PCA would be interested in a shift from 7 am to 10 am on Fridays.
Requirements - Be punctual, reliable, safety-conscious, and communicative. I need people to commit to a schedule, but please let me know in advance if you need time off. Reliability is essential. You must have dependable transportation, such as a car, since the shift is in the morning.
Previous experience with healthcare or assisting individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required. If you enjoy working with people and have a friendly, helpful attitude, that’s always a plus.
Pay Details - You will be paid by the Illinois Department of Human Services (Home Services Program) and will complete the necessary paperwork before starting work. DHS is a state agency, so you must provide them copies of your Driver's License or State ID and your Social Security Card. The pay rate for DHS PAs is currently $19.50.
Please email a statement of interest and a description of related experience. You must also provide contact information for at least one professional reference. Feel free to reach out if you have questions or need more info. Thank you!
