Experienced Automotive Mechanic - Pay is Commensurate with experience

Big Jack’s Auto Service and Towing is looking for an Experienced Automotive Mechanic.

The job requires "people" skills and a genuine desire to service the client. A positive attitude and willingness to be a team member are essential to the Experienced Automotive Mechanic position.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Valid Driver’s license/Reliable transportation

Must have your own tools and tool box

Knowledge of shop equipment

Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

Deadline and detail-oriented

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

5+ years of previous experience as a technician/automotive technician preferred

Job Responsibilities:

Repair various automotive vehicles

Perform routine vehicle maintenance on vehicles

Use diagnostic tools to test vehicle components

Perform quality inspections prior to returning the vehicle to the customer

Maintain a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record as established by the Company's insurance provider

Must effectively operate both automatic and manual transmissions

Must read and comprehend both written and oral instructions and information in English well and with close attention to detail

Possess general mechanical skills and aptitude, manual dexterity for the use of hand and power tools, equipment

Possess effective judgment skills

Effective communication and interpersonal skills, work well with others

Must be detail-oriented and possess analytical, critical thinking skills

Perform work outlined on maintenance and repair orders to ensure customer satisfaction

Diagnose the cause of any malfunction and repair in a timely manner

Provide labor and time estimates for additional automotive repairs

Able to explain mechanical problems and needed repairs

Examines vehicle, diagnoses and, if needed discusses with the shop owner, as to the nature and extent of damage or malfunction

Communicates additional service requests to the shop owner for communication to customer

Provides labor time estimates to the shop owner

Monitors repair time and updates shop owner on status often

Understands and follows Federal, State and local regulations such as disposal of hazardous wastes

Working Hours: Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm (Overtime Available)
