Position Summary:

As a Bartender at our beautiful Lakeview Restaurant overlooking Lake Bellair, you will be responsible for mixing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests in a friendly and efficient manner. You will also play a key role in maintaining cleanliness and organization behind the bar, ensuring compliance with all safety and sanitation regulations. Additionally, you will contribute to creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for guests by providing excellent customer service and engaging in friendly conversation.

Position Duties/Responsibilities:

Mixing and Serving Drinks: Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks, according to established recipes and guest preferences.

Customer Service: Greet guests in a friendly and welcoming manner, take drink orders, and engage in conversation to enhance the guest experience.

Menu Knowledge: Have a thorough understanding of the resort's drink menu, including specials and promotions, and be able to make recommendations to guests based on their preferences.

Maintaining Cleanliness: Keep the bar area clean and organized at all times, including washing glassware, wiping down surfaces, and disposing of waste properly.

Compliance: Adhere to all relevant laws and regulations regarding the sale and service of alcoholic beverages, including checking identification to ensure guests are of legal drinking age.

Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels of beverages and supplies, and communicate any needs to management to ensure uninterrupted service.

Teamwork: Collaborate with other members of the resort staff, including servers, kitchen staff, and management, to provide seamless service to guests.

Safety and Security: Follow safety procedures to prevent accidents and injuries, and be aware of any potential security issues, reporting them to management as necessary.

Meet, on a daily basis, the personal appearance and uniform standards as identified by the Shanty Creek Resort Employee Handbook.

Utilize all tools provided to ensure that prompt and correct service and information is being given to our guests.

Conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times, maintaining the highest standards of guest service in their interactions with fellow employees, vendors and, most importantly, our guests.

Employees in this position have extensive guest contact so it is critical for them to follow the SCR standards of service at all times.

Professional Experience and Qualifications:

A minimum of 6 months previous experience as a bartender in a similar environment is required.

Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and outgoing personality.

Strong knowledge of drink recipes and preparation techniques.

Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and sanitation.

Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weight.

Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

TAM, Servsafe, and/or TiPS certification are preferred.

Education:

There is no minimum educational requirement for this position.
