The PositionThe Bookkeeper I will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, including recording transactions, reconciling accounts, and supporting the preparation of financial reports. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle confidential information with integrity.Key ResponsibilitiesRecord day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct accounts, suppliers ledger, customer ledger, and general ledger.Process some accounts receivable and payables.Reconcile some credit card/bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts monthly.Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions, and resolving discrepancies.Maintain historical records by filing documents.Prepare and process invoices, receipts, payments, and financial documents.Assist with New Mexico tax credits and the New Mexico Job Training Incentive Program from registration to final audit and payment.Support the accounting team with administrative and clerical tasks as required.Organize and maintain files and records, ensuring they are up-to-date and easily accessible.Provide general support to visitors and act as a point of contact for external clientsAssist in the planning and coordinating of company events and employee social gatheringsQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in accounting or related field preferred.Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and familiarity with accounting software Netsuite.Basic understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Excellent organizational and time management skills.Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Preferred SkillsPreferred SkillsExperience with payroll processing.Knowledge of local, state, and federal tax laws and regulations.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks.What We OfferCompetitive salary and benefits package.Opportunities for professional development and career advancement.A supportive and collaborative work environment.About IdeumWe create meaningful experiences that use emerging technologies.
