Mill/Yard Operator

Days and Shift Information: Nonnegotiable 12-hour swing shifts; must be willing to work days and nights. PTO after 40 hours – guaranteed 48 hours / 8 hours of overtime.Key Responsibilities:Operate and maintain heavy-duty forklifts (Taylor lift), yard vehicles, and equipment.Comply with all Safe Job Instructions (SJIs), training requirements, and federal, state, and local regulations.Receive and inspect inbound loads, complete paperwork, and supervise unloading personnel.Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup, verify product integrity and counts, and ensure proper trailer/container loading.Maintain inventory controls, keep a clean and safe work environment, and report any hazards or issues to the supervisor.Work Environment:Outdoor work all day except when in the truck. The mill is part of Nucor Corp, the largest scrap metal recycler in North America. Minimal advancement opportunities (next step is foreman).
