Welding Shop SupervisorDescription:In this position the candidate will be working in a metal shop that manufactures agricultural equipment. Products range from tillage equipment, to spreaders, to flour bins. With a variety of work throughout the year, a weld supervisor is needed to keep production in line and help new hires, as well as check quality on prints/lay outs before tacking together. Welding may be 25% of the job depending on the week. Majority will be instruction and leadership!Responsibilities Include:
Overseeing and directing work for the welding department (12-15 welders)
Training in new welders on specific techniques and products
Scheduling the team as to who is working on what project based on timeliness and skill level needed to complete the project
Lay out and tack welding projects for the lesser skilled welders to finish
Read blueprints to weld and assemble parts
Operate overhead crane
Lift/transport raw materials or final products to finished area or next department
Working in coordination with the fab and material handling department as well as assembly to ensure product is flowing through the facility smoothly

Experience in supervising or managing a team
2+ years of MIG welding
2+ years experience reading blueprints
Must pass written welding test
Nice to have:
Preferred to have stainless steel experience
Forklift and overhead crane
