Job Summary: Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
Camas Physical Therapy is seeking an experienced and dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team of exceptional clinicians. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, energetic, and a team player who is passionate about advanced orthopedic rehabilitation and manual techniques.
This person will assist the Physical Therapist in implementing comprehensive PT plan of care focusing on restoring mobility, improving strength and balance, controlling pain, improving function and overall quality of life.
Duties & Responsibilities
Provide direct physical therapy according to directions of the supervising Physical Therapist and in accordance with the patient's plan of care.
Treat patients to relieve pain, develop or restore function, and help them maintain maximum performance in an outpatient orthopedic setting.
Collaborate closely with PTs on manual therapy interventions and progression.
Direct and aid patients in active and passive therapeutic exercises, functional training, balance activities, and gait training.
Utilize therapeutic modalities as appropriate, including, but not be limited to, heat, cold, electrical stimulation, therapeutic massage and Shock Wave therapies.
Observe and report to the Physical Therapist and clinic staff the patient’s reaction to treatment and any changes in the patient’s condition.
Instruct patients in appropriate home exercise programs and the safe use of assistive devices.
Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
Job Requirements
Active Washington (WA) PTA license or eligibility to obtain one.
Minimum of two (2) years of patient care experience; strong outpatient orthopedic experience is highly desirable.
Experience or interest in Manual Therapy and Dry Needling support is a significant plus.
Possess and maintain current CPR certification.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working with patients, families, and team members.
