We are seeking an experienced and motivated Construction Foreman to lead our field crews and ensure successful, safe, and efficient installations across our multi-state service area.
Position Summary
The Foreman oversees daily on-site operations for recreational construction projects. This position is responsible for managing crew members, coordinating tasks, maintaining safety standards, reading and interpreting project drawings, and ensuring that projects are completed on time, within scope, and to PlayGO’s quality standards.
This role requires strong communication, leadership, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work hands-on alongside the crew. Travel is required.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Successful candidates must be able to perform the following duties with or without reasonable accommodation:
Leadership & Oversight
Lead, supervise, and motivate laborers and installation crews on job sites.
Assign daily tasks, monitor performance, and ensure work is completed efficiently and accurately.
Train crew members in proper installation methods, equipment use, and safety procedures.
Project Execution
Read and interpret plans, blueprints, specifications, and installation manuals.
Coordinate daily project operations, including equipment staging, material handling, and workflow planning.
Install playground equipment, shades, shelters, surfacing, borders, and site amenities in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and industry standards.
Conduct daily quality checks to ensure compliance with project requirements.
Safety & Compliance
Enforce PlayGO and CPSC safety policies and guidelines
Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free job site.
Ensure proper PPE usage and safe operation of power tools, equipment, and machinery.
Equipment & Materials
Oversee delivery, unloading, and secure storage of tools, equipment, and materials.
Operate construction equipment such as augers, compactors, skid steers, saws, drills, jackhammers, and more.
Maintain proper care and reporting of tools, vehicles, and machinery.
Communication & Reporting
Communicate clearly with project managers, site representatives, inspectors, and customers.
Provide daily project updates, progress reports, and documentation as required.
Identify and resolve on-site issues promptly, escalating concerns when necessary.
General Duties
Travel in company vehicle to project sites across PlayGO’s service region (PA, Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland, DC and Virginia).
Perform all tasks necessary to support successful project completion.
Other duties as assigned by supervisors or project management.

Physical Demands & Work Environment
Work performed outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, wind).
Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, lifting, and manual labor.
Exposure to dust, dirt, noise, heights, and construction environments.
Operation of tools, machinery, and vehicles.
Ability to lift and carry heavy materials as needed.
Required PPE must be worn at all times.
Ability to communicate effectively in English.
Work Schedule & Travel
Must be available for early mornings and extended days.
Travel required throughout Pennsylvania, Ohio, Virginia, Washington DC, Maryland, and West Virginia.
Overnight stays as needed based on project schedule.
Paid travel time and food expenses provided.
Home on most weekends and ALL holidays.
May experience temporary layoffs during winter months, depending on workload and weather conditions.
Education, Certifications & Licenses
High school diploma or equivalent required
Valid driver’s license required
CDL or equipment certifications a plus
Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) a plus, but not required
Must be 18+ years of age
Must pass pre-employment background checks
Experience
2+ years of construction or outdoor installation experience required
Prior leadership or foreman experience preferred
Experience with playground installation, concrete work, grading, or site development a plus
Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort with power tools preferred
