Applicant supports process and product development, customer inquiries and issues, as well as qualify assurance and lab/testing concerns. Applicant will provide technical coordination and support throughout the company (QA, Lab, Melt Shop, Forging Facility, Rolling Mill, and Finishing Shops) in association with other metallurgists and personnel. Will collect, interpret and extrapolate data from the production process in order to monitor current performance against established practices and make recommendations on how to improve efficiencies for the future. Will assist sales in reviewing specifications/requirements for feasibility of production through data analysis and communication with the finishing departments. Applicant will assist in validation activities for new equipment, processes or software. Will assist in the preparation and completion of corrective actions and failure analyses both within and external to the facility. This will require understanding and application of laboratory techniques used for this purpose. Will work individually, and in teams on process, practice and equipment related projects, and assist all operations with product quality concerns and product development initiatives from conception through implementation. Applicant will assist QA Department with internal and external audits, service as technical liaison for customers with questions or problems regarding product quality, as well as helping to organize and coordinate customer vists and prepping reports for customers. Applicant will coordinate with area engineers/managers during routine operations and assist in solving production anomalies in the operations process. Will develop and perform experiments/trials both bench top and production scale for process measurement and improvement. Applicant must have at least a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Material Science Engineering, or Metallurgical Engineering, plus two (2) years of metallurgy experience.
