CMM Programmer/Operator

This description is meant to serve interviewers, applicants, managers and incumbents as a reference tool for determining whether applicant or employee qualifications are sufficient to perform the tasks and assume the responsibilities as described. Some aspects of the job may change over time according to business needs, which may not be recorded herein at this time. JOB RESPONSIBILITIESDetermine part inspection requirements from internal or customer drawings. Create or edit programs for the coordinate measuring machine (CMM). Utilize the programs to complete dimensional inspection using the coordinate measuring machine (CMM). Understand and utilize GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing) to complete detailed part inspection. Ensure the part inspection programs are consistent with part number and revision level. Complete PPAP and dimensional reports. Conduct finished product inspections with hand gauges and measurement systems. Inspect first piece of work order parts for correctness. Perform inspections on incoming goods as required. Log and maintain inspection data as needed for evaluating and reporting. Maintain calibration system and conduct calibrations as needed.
