Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced QA/QC Inspector with BESS expertise to support quality control and assurance efforts on utility-scale energy storage projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and commissioning of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and related electrical/mechanical systems. This role ensures that all work is performed in compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Perform inspections and quality checks on BESS installations, including electrical, mechanical, and civil components.

Verify compliance with project drawings, technical specifications, codes, and standards.

Conduct incoming material inspections to ensure equipment and components meet quality standards.

Document all inspection results, maintain QA/QC records, and generate non-conformance reports (NCRs) when needed.

Oversee and verify installation of battery racks, inverters, switchgear, transformers, cabling, grounding, and auxiliary systems.

Collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and field teams to resolve quality issues.

Monitor testing and commissioning activities to ensure proper system functionality.

Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and quality management procedures.

Participate in client/owner walk-downs and support punch list resolution.

Qualifications

3+ years of QA/QC inspection experience in power, renewable energy, or utility-scale construction projects.

Hands-on experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) is required.

Knowledge of applicable standards (NEC, IEEE, NFPA, ISO, and utility specifications).

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, and specifications.

Strong documentation, reporting, and communication skills.

Familiarity with commissioning processes and test procedures for electrical equipment.

OSHA 10/30 is required.

Must have reliable transportation and willingness to travel to project sites.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing/walking for extended periods.

Comfortable with construction site environments and PPE requirements, Must have full PPE and FR clothing.
