Position Overview
MT Geo is seeking a Mid-Level Heavy Maintenance Technician to support our growing service department. This position is ideal for a technician with hands-on mechanical experience who can work independently on routine maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of industrial equipment and machinery.
This is not an entry-level position. Candidates should already have mechanical experience and be comfortable working with tools, systems, and processes in an industrial or machinery environment.
Key Responsibilities:
-Perform maintenance and repair on mechanical equipment and machinery
-Troubleshoot mechanical issues and assist with diagnostics
-Use hand and power tools safely and efficiently
-Work independently on assigned service and maintenance tasks
-Assist with service documentation and job tracking
-Support service department workflow and continuous improvement
-Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
-Work outdoors as required
Required Qualifications:
-Prior mechanical or maintenance experience (industrial, automotive, or machinery)
-Valid driver’s license
-Drug-free workplace
-Ability to work Monday–Friday and Saturdays as needed
-Ability to stand for extended periods
-Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs
-Proficient with basic hand tools (wrenches, sockets, etc.)
-Experience using grinders, cutting tools, and similar equipment
-Must have own basic mechanic hand tools required to perform maintenance and repair work
Preferred Skills:
-Working knowledge of hydraulic systems
-Basic to intermediate knowledge of electrical components
-Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
-Ability to read and interpret schematics or technical drawings
-Willingness to learn company-specific equipment, processes, and systems
