Hiring Automotive mechanic in San Antonio
Pay: Up to $50,000.00 per year
Job description:
We are seeking a skilled Automotive Mechanic to join our service team.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in vehicle repair and maintenance, with a strong focus on diagnostics, mechanical systems, and customer service. This role involves performing a wide range of repairs and inspections on various vehicle makes and models, ensuring safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
Duties:
-Diagnose and repair automotive issues using advanced diagnostic tools and schematics
-Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks
-Repair and replace vehicle components including transmissions, powertrain systems, suspension, shocks & struts, brakes, and electrical systems
-Conduct alignments and wheel balancing to manufacturer specifications
-Service air brake systems on applicable vehicles
-Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for repairs and installations
-Perform auto body repairs and welding as needed
-Interpret vehicle manuals, schematics, and technical diagrams for accurate repairs
-Maintain detailed records of repairs performed and parts used
-Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer guidelines
-Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs and recommendations clearly
Skills:
- Proven experience or extensive automotive repair background
- Proficiency in automotive diagnostics and electrical systems troubleshooting
- Strong mechanical knowledge across various vehicle systems including transmissions, powertrain, suspension, and steering
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and automotive service equipment
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals accurately
- Familiarity with GM vehicles is a plus
- Experience with auto estimating software is advantageous
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members
Average pay: Up to $50,000.00 per year
