Freight Agent - Vermont Rail System is looking for a highly motivated Freight Agent to join our team.
This full-time position is located in Burlington, VT and is responsible for customer service tasks. Duties include:
Clerking
Handling empty railcar releases
Bill of ladings for loaded cars
Notifications to and from other railroads
Tracing Railcars
Damaged railcar notifications
Distribute daily work instructions to train crews generated from the TMS as well as any instructions from Operations Dept. supervisory personnel.
Will also assist other departments and the railroad as a whole by transferring information in a timely manner between them. Information will include the status of cars found in need of repairs, cars found to be without billing, opportunities for improving processes, chargeable events, reported safety concerns, etc.
Some weekend work will be required
We're looking for YOU, experience is great, but we will "train" the right candidates.
