Caregiver Job Description
Position Summary:
The Caregiver provides non-medical supportive services to clients in their homes or other place of residence in
accordance with each client's individualized plan of care. Services include assistance with activities of daily
living (ADLs), instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs), and companionship to help clients maintain their
dignity, safety, and independence at home.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
●Assist clients with ADLs such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, ambulation, and eating.
●Provide mobility assistance and transfer support.
●Perform light housekeeping tasks including laundry, dishwashing, and maintaining a clean environment.
●Prepare meals and assist with feeding as needed.
●Provide medication reminders and administer medication.
●Offer companionship and engage in social or recreational activities.
●Observe and report any changes in the client's condition to the RN supervisor promptly.
●Maintain accurate documentation of services provided.
●Follow the client's care plan and safety protocols at all times.
●Comply with all agency policies, including confidentiality and professional boundaries.
Minimum Qualifications:
●Must be at least 18 years of age.
●High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
●Basic technology skills (mobile app usage, typing)
●Ability to read, write, and follow written/verbal instructions in English.
●Successful completion of background checks required by law.
●Valid driver's license or reliable transportation, if required for assignments.
●Physical ability to perform required caregiving tasks.

- Standing for extending periods of time
- Lifting up to 50 pounds independently or 100 pounds with assistance
●Completion of agency orientation and required training.
Work Conditions:
●Work is performed in private residences and may include exposure to household pets, smoking, and
various home environments.
●Must be able to tolerate occasional exposure to bodily fluids and use appropriate personal protective
equipment (PPE).
●Caregivers may be assigned to different clients and shifts depending on availability and client needs.
