Job Summary: This is a part-time position. Mon., Wed., Fri. 8am - 5pm with 1 hr for lunch.
We are seeking a warm, professional, and highly organized Front Office Medical Receptionist who is fully bilingual in English and Spanish. (back-office experience will be a plus) As the first point of contact, you will play a vital role in creating a positive patient experience, managing the flow of the office, and supporting our diverse patient population with empathy and professionalism. The ideal candidate must maintain a neat and professional appearance and respond maturely to patient needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Welcome: Greet visitors with a warm, professional welcome and direct them to the appropriate department. Ensure the waiting and reception areas are kept clean, tidy, and welcoming.
Bilingual Communication: Effectively communicate with patients and visitors in both English and Spanish, determining the nature of their visit and answering inquiries.
Phone Management: Answer phone promptly (by the FOURTH ring) and politely, using approved telephone etiquette.
Scheduling & Registration: Schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments. Instruct and assist new patients in accurately filling out registration forms.
Insurance & Billing: Verify insurance eligibility, obtain necessary authorizations, and collect co-pays or past due balances while maintaining an accurate cash drawer.
Records Management: Maintain and manage patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring all documents are correctly uploaded to electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Requirements & Qualifications:
Fluency: Full professional fluency in both English and Spanish (verbal and written) is required.
Professionalism: Must exhibit a professional demeanor, excellent phone etiquette, and the ability to maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
Education: High school diploma or GED required.
Experience: 1–2 years of experience in a medical front office role is highly preferred.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with EHR/EMR systems. (must take initiative to become familiar with Elation EHR
Knowledge: Understanding of medical terminology and HIPAA confidentiality practices.
