Division Street Dental is looking for a hygienist to join our team. We are a small, but busy, family practice that treats all ages.
About the position:
- 1-2 days per week (Mon/Tues through mid Feb, then switching to Tues/Weds), with potential for more days as the practice grows
- Hours: 7:30-5:30, lunch 1-2
- ‘Traditional hygiene’. 1 patient per hour. No restorative. May occasionally be asked to give anesthetic for Dr a few times a week.
- New patients have exam, xrays, and treatment plan completed by Dr in her own column.
About our patients:
- Lots of older patients (ages 60-90), with a decent amount of (mostly controlled) perio
- Very appreciative, respectful, and have been with our practice long term; many for 20+ years
- We offer highly personalized, attentive and sensitive care. Therefore, it is not usual for us to employ a decent amount of TLC - GLUMA densensitizer, neck pillows, topical anesthetic, etc.
About our practice:
- Second generation practice run and owned by one doctor – Dr. Heron
- Our mission to provide highly personalized care that always is top notch clinically, and that welcomes all. We are not a production driven, mill style office. We take extra time and listen to our patients.
- We have new technologies (soft tissue laser, digital charting & xrays, I/O cameras and scanner, cavitron and piezo options), however we also still utilize and appreciate ‘old school’ dentistry. Dr. Heron still places amalgams when clinically indicated or patient preferred. Tucker gold work is common in our office.
- All out of network with insurances
Desired characteristics in applicant:
- 2 years+ experience; Excellent clinical skills
- Personable, honest, happy to work as a team with assistants and doctor
- Good time management: stays on time and prompt arrival for work
- Comfortable with SRP and perio maint of pockets up to 6mm; 7mm+ we generally refer to periodontist
- Comfortable and good at patient education re: periodontal disease, caries risk, etc
